This is cool!
Thank you for the detailed explanation. do we still have workshop available on this topic?
We do not have any lyophilization workshops scheduled.
Superb lecture! Thank you for this!
thanks!
this would have been a nice presentation, but there were glitches, cuts in the audio and sometimes the sentences are not even completed.
We're sorry you have had difficulties with the playback. The full transcript can be viewed here, and you may also download the slides: www.mccrone.com/mm/surface-properties-using-xps/

How did I end up in this rabbit hole?
very informative video delivered in a simple way. brilliant. Thanks for sharing this knowledge and info in a way that's not complicated to understand. I loved your real-life example about old and new galvanized plates.
We're glad you found it to be helpful!
This is a great informative video, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sir , Can you share me the ppt ? It will help me to explain further to students, I am a XPS analyst in CSIR lab.
Hello, you may download the slides and transcript here: www.mccrone.com/mm/surface-properties-using-xps/
Thank you
You're welcome!
That was very interesting. I once made an incredibly sharp point via electrolysis. I have no optical instruments besides glasses but it pierced my skin without drawing any blood. I glued it to my rapier, only to break it off while fencing against imagined opponents. I think I will try to etch a microscopic hole in a tungsten carbide electrode now.
We're glad you found the video interesting. Thank you for watching!
Perfection!
Thank you, Hamed.
Great video! Am having trouble finding a sodium nitrite stick for purchase. Might you be able to provide the details/source of the sodium nitrite sticks that you use? Thanks!
Alex, thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, we do not have a supplier. We purchase sodium nitrite in bulk, and make our own sticks in our lab.
@@Hookecollege Thank you for the response! Might you be able to provide some details for how to make the sticks and what quality/purity of sodium nitrite you purchase?
@@Hookecollege Hi, what grade Sodium Nitrite did you use?
@@mayatou11 The bottle reads: Sodium nitrite, ACS reagent, greater than or equal to 97.0%. Sigma Aldrich # 237213
@@alexmcclelland1286 The bottle reads: Sodium nitrite, ACS reagent, greater than or equal to 97.0%. Sigma Aldrich # 237213
just what I needed, cheers. Very well explained
Thank you. We're glad you enjoyed this introduction.
Hi all, I’m curious regarding the text under the third slide on the page at 5:15 minutes. The text indicates that among other things, there was a first-order red (560nm) compensator inserted. Is that a typing error in the brackets that should read (650nm)? To me it seems that 560nm is within the yellow zone and 650nm is in the red. I’m just learning about spectroscopy and if I am incorrect then I would greatly appreciate an explanation or a pointer in the right direction. TIA.
Thank you for your question. First order red compensators can often range between 530 - 575 nm, but are most commonly 530-550 nm. 650 nm would be blue. You may find an explanation here: www.mccrone.com/mm/the-michel-levy-interference-color-chart-microscopys-magical-color-key/ I hope this is helpful.
Thank you for sharing. It would be great to repeat the same steps of lyophilization for a specific substance, for example, a piece of fruit or greens.
You're welcome!
Thanks for the detailed Explanation sir. Helped me a lot!
We're glad it helped!
I took pictures of inside my ear using a microscope.Other than hair I see some other fibers looks like piezoelectric material. I have pictures of it. Can you please analyze them?
We perform materials analysis, and don't normally analyze images. You are welcome to submit a request, though: www.mccrone.com/contact-us/
